Leelavathi (born 2 October 1933) is a famous Indian actress who mainly worked in Kannada films. She started her career in 1955 with a minor role in the film Bedara Kannappa. Leelavathi went on to act in around 400 films in a career spanning over three decades. She has won several awards for her acting, including the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film Kalla Kulla in 1971. Apart from her acting career, Leelavathi has also worked as a producer and director. She is considered one of the legendary actresses of Kannada cinema and is revered by fans even today.
